Rafael Palmeiro knows he isn’t getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The fact that in his two years of eligibility he has not gotten past 12 percent on the ballot showcases that fact, and as the odds are strong that he will probably have just enough to stay on the ballot (5 percent is needed to stay on), he will have a constant reminder for the next thirteen years. We have to admit that this is one of our favorite weekends of the year. This is the weekend where the Football Hall of Fame enshrines their latest class and the NFL pre-season begins.
