gold star for USAHOF

Not in Hall of Fame News

The Las Vegas Aces are a special team, having just won their second straight championship, and could be a squad that has a chance to be a WNBA dynasty. Whenever a title is won, it naturally helps key players make their respective Halls of Fame, and this win could help bring five women closer to Springfield. Despite not winning what would have been her third MVP (she finished third) A’Ja Wilson is the team’s star, leader, and arguably the new face of the league.  She has only played six seasons, but the Basketball Hall does not have any minimum level…
Today, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Julio Jones to a one-year deal, and if he plays in a game, should extend his year of eligibility for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Jones, who was a 2010s All-Decade Team Selection, and seven-time Pro Bowler, has 13,629 Receiving Yards and 62 Touchdowns, has the resume of a Pro Football Hall of Fame entrant, and possibly one who can enter on his first year.  Currently 16th overall in Receiving Yards, if Jones is only 270 Yards away from vaulting into 13th, which would move him past Cris Carter, Anquan Boldin and Henry Ellard. …

RIP: Dick Butkus

We lost a legend today Chicago Bears icon, Dick Butkus, passed away today at the age of 80. A beast at the University of Illinois, Dick Butkus was a two-time All-American who won the Big Ten MVP in 1963. Butkus stayed close to home as a pro, as he was taken with the third overall pick in 1965. Chicago was not a powerhouse when Butkus played, but he was the reason to pay attention to the team. One of the most punishing tacklers in football history, offensive skill players were quaking with the knowledge that they could be on the…
Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our post 2022/23 revision of our top 50 Brooklyn Nets. As for all of our top 50 players in basketball we look at the following: 1.  Advanced Statistics. 2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the…
For the last three seasons, we have awarded the NIHOF NBA Cup by awarding the best five players in the game with descending points, 5-4-3-2-1.  Obviously, we can’t watch all the games, but box scores and write ups give an approximate idea as to who were each game’s top five. This year, we decided to the same for the WNBA. The top players for the WNBA NIHOF Cup are not always the best in the league, as injuries keep players out of games, and a premium on staying healthy can help pile up points.  It also does not hurt to be…
An era has ended. Miguel Cabrera played his last game yesterday, concluding the career of one of the best hitters of the last twenty years. From Venezuela, Cabrera broke in with the Florida Marlins in 2003, where he immediately helped them with the World Series.  A rising star who went to the next four All-Star Games, the frugal Marlins traded Cabrera to Detroit in 2008, where his game reached a new level. An All-Star annually from 2010 to 2016, Cabrera won two Home Run Titles, four Batting Titles, two OPS Titles, and two MVPs.  Cabrera also won seven Silver Sluggers.…
Here we are!  Again!! If you have been following our Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project, you know that we have asked the rhetorical question…what if the PFHOF began in January of 1946? After soliciting and obtaining a passionate group of football fans and historians, we sent out a ballot for a Preliminary Vote, which we asked each voter to give us 25 names as their semi-finalists, and 5 in the Senior Pool. Following that, we asked the group to vote for their 15 Finalists in the Modern Era, and 3 in the Senior Category. The final stage was…
