It was announced today that Del Shofner passed away in his home.  He was 85 years old. Playing his college ball at Baylor, the Los Angeles Rams chose Shofner with the 11thpick overall in the 1957 Draft.  Shofner was used mostly as a Defensive End as a rookie, but he would play a lot more on the offensive side of the ball afterward.  He would be a First Team All-Pro in both 1958 and 1959 and won the Receiving Yards Title in the former year with 1,097 Yards.   Shofner joined the New York Giants in 1961, and that year, and the two seasons…

We have another huge day at Notinhalloffame.com as the College Football Hall of Fame has announced the Class of 2020. Seventeen former players and two former Coaches will be induced on December 8, at the New York Hilton.  To become eligible as a player, that individual must have been a First Team All-American and have last played his college ball ten years ago.  In addition, they must have played their last year in college at least 50 years ago (1970.). We have a very significant retirement to discuss in the world of Pro Football as Marshal Yanda will be announcing his retirement on Wednesday. A third round pick from Iowa, Yanda would start 12 of his 16 Games as a rookie and he would be a permanent fixture on the right side of the line from 2010 until his retirement in 2019. Yanda went to his first Pro Bowl in 2011, and he would go to eight in total. A two-time First Team All-Pro, Yanda was also a Second Team Selection five times.  His presence on the O-Line helped the Ravens win…

Last night on WWE Backstage, it was announced that John Bradshaw Layfield will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame this year. After beginning his wresting career in 1992, Layfield signed with the WWE in 1995 as Justin “Hawk” Bradshaw, where the Texan was in full cowboy gimmick similar to Stan Hansen.  The character would see television time, but it was a lower-card gimmick that did nothing more than have a forgettable feud with Savio Vega.   In early 1997, Bradshaw became “Blackjack Bradshaw” and formed the new Blackjacks with Barry Windham.  The team went nowhere, and Bradshaw would be a single again,…
