The problem when you cover Halls of Fame as your core task is that you regularly discuss older people, and conversely cover many deaths. There is another to discuss today as Basketball Hall of Fame Coach, Guy Lewis passed away at the age of 93.
Lewis was known for being the head coach of the Houston Cougars for over thirty years and the famed “Phi Slama Jama”. Lewis would take Houston to the NCAA Finals in 1983 and 1984, though would not win the big one. Twice he was named the Coach of the Year and would appear in five Final Fours. His overall record in Houston was 592 and 279.
We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to offer our condolences to the friends and family of Guy Lewis at this time.
