Chara was a huge (literally) acquisition for the Bruins and the six-foot-nine blueliner would not only captain the defense but captain the team. Chara’s imposing physical presence, combined with offensive skill made him a regular contender for the Norris Trophy; an award he won in 2009. The big man from Slovakia has also been a post-season All-Star five times as a Bruin.
Chara would play for the Bruins well into his 40s, and eventually left for the Capitals in 2020. With the Bruins, Chara scored 481 Points, and added to the already glowing legacy of Boston blueliners.
