16. Maurice Cheeks
Maurice Cheeks was one of the great point guards in league history.  His speed and ability to see the court made him the perfect point guard.  Cheeks was lucky enough to get drafted by the 76ers out of tiny West Texas State as they were building a great franchise.  His ability to guard and get the ball to his teammates made him the perfect choice for point guard of the Sixers. A 4 time All-Star and 4 time All Defensive league choice, Cheeks played a long and storied career and is currently top ten All Time in both steals and assists.

Maurice Cheeks is more than worthy of the Hall Of Fame.

The Basketball Hall Of Fame has shown in the last few years that it is not adverse to having players from Philadelphia teams (Chet Walker - 76ers - 2012; Guy Rodgers - Warriors - 2014) reach the Hall Of Fame, so Maurice Cheeks, a perennial candidate of 76ers reknown, should eventually get in.

I am an alum of West Texas State in the days of Mercury Morris in the early 70's. I continued to follow WTSU sports and became a big fan of Mo Cheeks. He is a talent whose numbers are there. Why is he not in the NBA Hall of Fame?
