While “The Hawk”, Andre Dawson might be best known for winning the 1987 National League MVP with the Chicago Cubs, it was with the Montreal Expos that he had by far his greatest overall run.

Dawson was a two-time runner up for the NL MVP as an Expo and while he may have been in the shadow of Gary Carter’s popularity, Dawson put up better offensive numbers, while still giving the franchise good defense.  Dawson was arguably in his prime a legitimate five-tool player during his prime.  With the Expos, Dawson had 225 Home Runs, 838 RBIs, and had an OPS of .802.   Playing in the Outfield, Dawson earned six Gold Gloves.  He left Montreal for the Chicago Cubs as a Free Agent in 1987, where he would be an MVP.

His number #10 was retired by the Expos and in 2010 he would enter the Baseball Hall of Fame.  That same year, Dawson was enshrined into the Nationals Ring of Honor.
