Cecil Cooper was a really good baseball player though it seemed that only people in Milwaukee were aware of it!

After being traded from the Boston Red Sox, Cooper’s career blossomed.  The First Baseman would win a pair of Gold Gloves and three Silver Sluggers, the first Brewer to win both awards.  Twice Cooper would lead the American League in Runs Batted In and with a .352 Batting Average in 1980, he was the runner up for the Batting Title behind George Brett’s astronomical .390.  He would finish 5th in MVP voting three times.

Following his retirement as a player he would serve in multiple coaching capacities in the Brewers system and would later get a chance to coach in MLB with the Astros in 2007.
