Crawford would appear to be the perfect complement to Ty Cobb and the dual hitting threat would take the Tigers to three consecutive American League Pennants (though both would falter in the postseason), and their relationship would turn adversarial.
Still, Sam Crawford was an exceptional hitting threat and would lead the American League in Triples five times, RBIs three times, and had a .309 Batting Average as a Tiger. He would enter the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1957, and his name was honored by the Tigers in rightfield along with other legends in 2000.
