As good as he was defensively Lonny Frey was not a one-dimensional player. He would contribute nearly 1,000 Hits for the Reds and won the National League Stolen Base Title in 1920. Frey might have been ranked higher on this list had he performed better in the playoffs; he went 0 for 19 in his two World Series appearances, though granted his 1940 appearance was reduced to two At Bats due to an injured foot.
Cincinnati selected Frey to enter their Hall of Fame in 1961.
